Death:OK (Let’s Talk About It) is a day of inspiration, information, and connection taking place October 17, 2015 on the campus of Reed College in Portland, Oregon. As part of an ongoing series profiling our presenters, we’re pleased to introduce you to…
Lori Mason, presenting “Memorial Quilts: Finding Connection through Cloth,” with Artisanal Memory Boxes.
Lori will introduce participants to the art form of a memorial quilt, describe how she got started making memorial quilts, share quilt projects she has done and a 3-minute video which shows her making a memorial quilt as she describes the process and philosophy behind what she does.
Lori has been a textile designer and quilt maker for 20 years.
Lori will copresent with LEFTHAND, a collaboration of Mary Elliott and Ellen Fortin, makers of Artisanal Memory Boxes. Remembrance art designed to hold mementoes and keepsakes, or as a funerary vessel, each personal keepsake is unique and made to order, crafted with natural bookboard, selected fabrics and art papers.
