Catherine Beckett, LCSW, PhD. “Beyond Kubler-Ross: Updates in Understanding, Supporting and Processing Grief.”

stormy seaLoss and grief are an inevitable part of the human experience. This workshop will look at advances from the last two decades in understanding the ways people process these differently. Participants will learn new models for conceptualizing different styles of grief, and new practical tools for supporting grief, both in themselves and in others.

Catherine Beckett, LCSW, PhD, has provided counseling services with a specialization in grief and loss since 1994, in a variety of settings including schools, community mental health agencies, addiction treatment centers, hospitals, and both adult and pediatric hospice. She has designed and taught workshops and courses for counseling professionals at institutions including U.C. Berkeley, the University of Portland, Portland State University and Oregon State University. She maintains a private clinical and consulting practice.
