Articulating the Essence of Your Life: Write Your Obituary

Death:OK (Let’s Talk About It) is a day of inspiration, information, and connection taking place October 17, 2015 on the campus of Reed College in Portland, Oregon.  As part of an ongoing series profiling our presenters, we’re pleased to introduce you to…

Susyn Reeve, presenting “Articulating the Essence of Your Life:  Write Your Obituary.”

Each one of us is born with a unique configuration of passions, gifts, talents, and skills. In our lives we are most satisfied when we acknowledge, value and share these.

Writing your obituary is a potent way to focus on what is truly important to you. Putting into words what you want said about your life serves as your North Star guiding how you live your life each and every day. Focusing on death is actually a life-giving exercise, aligning your imagination, intentions, and actions with your vision for your life.

Susyn Reeve it the best-selling author of The Wholehearted Life: Big Changes and Greater Happiness Week by Week and The Inspired Life: Unleashing Your Mind’s Capacity for Joy. She has 40 years experience as an Organization Development Consultant, Self Esteem Expert, and InterFaith Minister. In recent years her work has focused on Crafting Your 3rd Act – Gifts of the Elders. It was the death of Susyn’s oldest sister and father when she was in her early 20’s that has led her to appreciate the constant presence of death and its powerful reminder to consciously live a life of passion and purpose.
